Our Normal

With the exception of a sick little girl finishing out last week, it's been another enjoyable one! We had a fun weekend going to Fort Wayne and doing a bit of shopping (although it did make us realize how much we would like to have a GPS!). I enjoyed celebrating Mother's Day with a slide show Kendall made me when I woke up, church, brunch with the Gins, naps, and a trip to Muncie to Greek's Pizzeria for supper. Kendall also cleaned the apartment while Mady and I were at nursery. I have such a great husband:-)

Mady was pretty cranky Thursday during lunch (she's usually very cheerful and loves seeing the people we eat with on Thursdays) and when we came home and took her temperature  it was 102. It stayed between 101 and 103 until Friday late afternoon, but by Saturday she seemed to be doing much better. She has a runny nose, but is mostly back to her cheerful self. After nap time on Friday afternoon, she wasn't quite ready to get going, so she settled in with Daddy's green blankie and some Elmo to wake herself up a bit.

This morning we went and played outside with the Mosers and Dillers. Mady is always very excited to play with Benjamin, Isa and Sam, and Andrew and Isaac. She and Isa did a good job of sharing bubbles. The first thing I heard her say when she woke up from her nap today was "Isa!" It's fun watching her be excited about her friends.

I had the camera with me tonight at supper, so I thought I'd give people a glimpse of our typical Monday evening meal (among several others throughout the week!). There is always a big group of residence life people that we eat with on Mondays. This is actually a pretty small group compared to some nights. It's not uncommon to be packed around three tables. Every once in awhile I have a moment where I am reminded of how different our life is from most families. As Mady and I were walking to meet Kendall for supper, we walked past another dorm where her friend Lucy lives. She was saying, "Lucy house!" and I thought to myself, how strange is it that she and most of her friends live in three or four story brick buildings? Oh well. It's our normal and we are very happy with it!
