Last Thursday we went to a cookout at the Herrmanns'. Mady was in her element getting to play with Ollie and Ciaran, along with all of our friends in MAHE. She can be quite the life of the party!
Mady had a bit of a rough weekend with saying goodbye to her friends in Swallow. She usually spends at least an hour of her day interacting with them. When I told her I was going to leave for a little while to help Meleca move, she started sobbing and clinging to me. I think she was afraid I was going to leave too. She's doing better now, but she has asked about people a few times. Here's an example of the fun she has with the students of Swallow.

It's been extremely warm the last couple of days. I think I mentioned last week that Mady and Lucy had lots of fun playing in the fountains by the prayer chapel. We decided to go back yesterday while I was watching Lucy, and Miriam and Hezekiah came with us. It was a good way to cool off on a hot, humid day!
Today we were able to go to the Yordys' to swim in Max's pool. It was another extremely hot day, so it was great to cool off! We so enjoy having good friends who invite us to share an afternoon with them.
Tonight we went with the Residence Life staff to Fort Wayne for dinner at Flat Top Grill followed by ice cream at Cold Stone. What a wonderful treat! Kendall will work tomorrow, and then should be completely done for the year. He will have a couple of weeks off until the ACSD conference in PA June 7-11. As soon as that is done, he will be overseeing the res life part of Taylor's summer honors program for high schoolers, CRAM. Although Mady and I aren't looking forward to Kendall being gone for a week, we are excited for my mom to be coming out to stay with us. Mady's talked of little else for the past several days. The plan is to go to the zoo after we pick mom up from the airport. We told Mady this, and she is so excited. She keeps saying, "Grandma duck! Two weeks." I'm really hoping there are ducks at the zoo. I think we will have a disappointed little girl on our hands if there aren't:-)
