Yesterday we took a roadtrip to Hebron, KY, (just outside of Cincinnati, OH) which is about 2.5 hours away. The country's only Gap clearance store is located there, and it's filled with Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy merchandise that has some sort of defect (some stuff is really damaged, but other things were returned and ended up there in perfect condition or something happened to the box they were in). Our friend Ebeth lives close by there and told us about it. Considering how much we love to shop at Gap, we decided to check it out! It was fun to get away and we found some great deals:-) Mady was a good traveler for us. I found this Elmo purse at a garage sale last week, so we held onto it and gave it to her on the way there. She liked it quite a bit!
My favorite activity of the week has been swimming in our friends the Moeschbergers' pool. We were able to go over and swim on Monday, and then again tonight for swimming and a barbecue. We've really appreciated their generosity in opening their home and their pool to us!
Mady is quite the little fish. Sometimes she's a little too fearless. I was checking on something in my bag and told her to stay back from the edge but she decided to slide in anyway and went under. I quickly jumped in and pulled her up but she was definitely a little shaken up! I was actually kind of glad it happened, though, because she needs to learn to listen to me and stay back from the edge. She quickly got over it and was happily swimming and jumping again in no time.
Mady is very excited for her birthday this weekend. She wants to eat cake with her friends, drink from the orange cups, and sing "birthday to you"! She's pretty pumped about turning two. A recap will be coming early next week!
