Fantastic Four

Drew turned 4 on Monday! He was so excited for his birthday to finally be here and we had such a fun weekend celebrating such a fun little boy. Where to start with Drew? I suppose with his love of all things superheroes, particularly Batman. Drew's number one passion in life is Batman, and has been for quite some time now. He will happily pretend with his superheroes off and on all day long. In fact, Batman is so prevalent in our home that it was one of Jack's first words!

Drew is a both a great little brother and a great big brother. He and Mady get along so well and can often be found hiding out and playing together, hopefully undisturbed by Jack, though that's pretty unlikely:-) He often gets frustrated by the fact that Mady gets to do things that he doesn't, and I think he gets annoyed by me telling him that Mady didn't get to do those things when she was his age either. He's also good with Jack, and they've recently hit the stage where it's fun to wrestle around and play together. He's (usually) patient with Jack trying to take his toy or do whatever he is doing, and overall is a great role model for his brother (minus the recent spike in nose picking, which I could do without Jack having picked up).

Drew loves school and is so excited for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. We've gone from him crying about me leaving to him jumping out of the car and running up to the door without me. He's quite independent!I think he is pretty quite and considerate when he is at school and we are so glad to hear that he cares about his classmates and does a good job sharing with them. He also loves his babysitters throughout the week and has no problem expressing his disappointment when he has to spend the whole day with me:-)

We're moving next door to a house on campus this summer and we are all extremely excited about it. The kids will each have their own room and Drew is pumped for a Batman themed space of his own. If I have to guess, though, he's going to have a tough time being away from his big sister for awhile. We're thankful for the bond the kids have and we are so grateful that God chose us to be Drew's parents. He brings much joy, spunk, determination, and love to our family and we couldn't love him more. Happy birthday, buddy!
