Josh and Emily's (and Mady's) Big Day

On July 2nd, Mady was a flower girl for our friends Josh and Emily's wedding. She fulfilled her duties perfectly! (Okay, maybe not perfectly...) She was a champ while she had her hair curled...then promptly lost it when she saw herself in the mirror and heard everyone oohing and aahing and pulled it out.

Thankfully, the church had a preschool in it and someone let us into a room with a kitchen and lots of other toys to distract her. She calmed down and let us fix her hair and get her dress on.

The day was quite sweltering, so the outdoor pictures were very sweaty for all involved. Mady refused to participate, though she did quite well when she was behind the camera. She took this picture of the wedding party.

I thought we might be able to convince her to take some pictures after she and Jared played with the puppy that ran over. No such luck. 

I did get some cute solo pictures, however!

We were worried she wouldn't make it down the aisle, so we sat in the front pew and had our friend Kalyn try to get her started down the aisle. As you can see, that didn't work either. She froze with that many people watching her and didn't make the walk. Everyone in  the church other than us thought it was cute! I can't blame her though. She is only 3! And as she often reminds us, she's "sometimes a little shy".

All in all, the day went well and most importantly, Josh and Emily are happily married!
