Birthday Fun

Last Saturday we celebrated Mady's birthday with friends down at Taylor Lake. We headed down an hour early to set up. Mady got a hold of the camera. Her photography skills have drastically improved over the past several months!

Lucy really wanted to be in the birthday pictures with Mady:-)

Our theme was birds, with as much pink as we could include. Some of our cake-cicles were strawberry, and pink was the first frosting choice that was made!

Luckily, the storms held off during the party, so the kids got to dig around in the sand for a toy bird to take home. Mady wasn't at her most cooperative for pictures, though, and didn't want Daddy out of reach.

Mady got lots of fun presents from her friends. She had fun opening them all!

Drew got a little warm (as did the rest of us!) but still had fun being passed around.

Even though we didn't swim, the water was still a big draw on a hot day!

On Sunday we took Mady out for lunch, and then for a special trip up to Fort Wayne. We let her pick where we ate, and she wanted to eat at the restaurant with all the toys. Allow me to translate: Cracker Barrel. Kendall and I figure she is significantly younger than the average person who chooses Cracker Barrel for their birthday!

After lunch we surprised her with a trip to Build A Bear in Fort Wayne. She didn't get quite as into it as we hoped she would, but she does like the bear she ended up with.

We followed up Build A Bear with a quick trip to Target and a blizzard for the drive home. We had a lot of fun celebrating our wonderful 3 year old!
