Last weekend our niece Kaylee turned two. She lives in Des Moines, which is a bit of a trek from Upland, but Mady and I decided to make the trip back and surprise everyone for the party. It was wonderful! Our friend Abigail made the drive with us, which was a definite blessing. We successfully surprised everyone and got to spend great quality time with those we love. My parents and siblings were there and Kendall's parents also drove over to see us before we left. Kendall stayed behind to work on his thesis. We missed him, but it was also a blessing for him to have four days without interruption to work. Here are a few snapshots of our weekend in Iowa!
Kaylee got both of these toys for her birthday. Mady really liked the trike, and immediately hopped on it. She was good about getting off and letting Kaylee have a turn, but a few minutes later she walked over and pulled the shopping cart close to Kaylee saying, "Look at this one Kaylee! Play this one!" Quite the little subtle manipulator:-) She makes her daddy proud.
I got a great video of the two of them after bathtime, but unfortunately Mady decided to streak to the camera with her towel flowing freely behind her. A little too much nudity for me to comfortably place on my public blog!
